title pic Spurn Point

I haven't yet mentioned the day out a few days ago. This is mainly down to the fact that it was bobbins.

Having studied a few pictures, and read a few pieces of bumph, we opted to fit in Spurn Point and Hornsea ( both in the "East Riding Of Yorkshire" ) on the same day. To say that Spurn Point left a lot to be desired is probably a generous description. Don't get me wrong, it's probably a great place for birdspotting, or nature trails – but for a standard day out, there's little of interest. We ended up doing a seven mile walk along the length of the point, pretty much as far as the lighthouse, and then back. Within an hour and three quarters. No sooner had we got to the end, we about-turned and headed back. There wasn't even anything to take photos of, really… here's the other four of the five taken that featured something semi-reasonable:

And that was about it. It actually looks better in the photos, and hides the fact that the beach is a bit of a shed.

Not a lot to be added about Hornsea, either. No photos, because the cold north-easterly wind turned us into cowards, but thumbs up to the fish and chip restaurant that did a nice serving of scampi/jumbo sausage. Not a lot else there, mind you – or so it seemed, anyway.

I think we'll put a little more planning into the next day out!
