It's not looking good for next week.
Supposedly, on Sunday, we're off to the Lake District for five days. In all reality, we might as well sit in the back garden, for it is lakey enough out there. However, seeing as nothing is booked (the idea being – since we're stopping in hotels – book accommodation on Friday afternoon), there's an option to change destination. The reserve option is north Devon.
However, if you believe the long-range forecast, it's more of the same for at least the next fortnight for the whole country – essentially, not very warm, not very dry, and generally not very summer-like. Hence it's becoming something like Russian roulette; the likelihood of sticking a pin randomly in a map of the UK becoming more real by the hour.
Time to write things like "wellingtons", "pac-a-mac", and "thermals" on the packing list…
