Rebellious revival

Already, in the last year or two, we have seen comebacks by Take That, and the Spice Girls. Boyzone have announced a forthcoming reunion tour. It could be the nineties all over again…
And then, out of the woodwork came East 17 – or E-17 as they prefer to be known these days.
Yep, Brian Harvey has been working with the other two odd-looking members (not Tony Mortimer, who clearly considers himself too Robbie-esque to complete the set) on recording new material. Considering that they were always the poor man’s Take That (and compositely to TT, ended on a bit of a career low), a nation probably doesn’t wait with baited breath.
One interesting quote comes from the article. Brian clearly has a few memory problems… how else can this morsel be explained?
On the subject of a recent leaked demo called ‘F*** That’, he (Harvey) added: “I think the backing track is quality, man. The lyrics were us trying to be as controversial as we could.
“We even looked up f*** in the dictionary to see what it meant. We were the rebels of the music industry so we wanted to write a rebellious song.”
Rebels of the music industry? East 17?
Wasn’t this the same group that recorded perhaps the most syrupy of festive ballads, “Stay Another Day”?
The Sex Pistols (and their ilk) clearly had nothing on E-17 when it came to being rebellious…
