Hair of the (Hound) dog

Just for novelty value, I thought I’d try a different barber shop. Not that there was anything wrong with the one I was using – apart from it occasionally being a nightmare to park outside – but sometimes, a change is as good as a rest.
So, I thought I’d try one in town. First point to note was that there was no noticeable tariff inside – okay, not a problem, surely a haircut isn’t going to cost the earth. However, this barber’s shop take their time over cutting your hair… stopping fractionally short of getting out a ruler and measuring individual hairs to make sure it’s all even. You get the idea. Probably a good half an hour, all told.
And what did this experiment cost me?
Eighteen quid.
Cripes. Pretty much the equivalent of two and a half haircuts at the other place. But, granted, it does look good… but then, it’s a haircut, so it should. Unless, of course, the barber wore a blindfold and hacked away free will.
Mind you, given that it was Rufus Hound* that cut it, that might go some way to explaining the cost.
(* okay, so it was his stunt double.)

In all honesty, I have no idea what the place was called!
