Pink poo

I had to read this article twice, because the first time, I didn’t quite believe it.
Mansfield district council have decided upon a new deterrent against dog fouling – spraying the poo bright pink.
In an attempt to shame owners into cleaning up after their pooch, volunteers will be searching for piles of plop and adding a biodegradable dye to them, thus also making them highly visible and avoiding the nasty slither of shoe on shit.
I’m not quite sure what to make of this – surely employing extra wardens to enforce the current £50 fouling system is a better option than leaving the crap lying around, in small pink piles. And let’s face it – pardonning the pun here – there are dog owners who don’t give a shit as to, well, where their dog shits… and no amount of fluorescent dye will change that.
It seems a somewhat hair-brained idea in my book.
